Content of the Subject

When considering the themes "Ancient Society", "The First Principalities-States on the Belarusian Land", "Belarus in the Times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Rzeczpospolita within the Russian State", "Development of the Belarusian Statehood on a Soviet Basis", "The Republic of Belarus is a Sovereign Independent State" students study the socio-economic, socio-political and cultural processes of the national history from ancient times to the present in the context of the history of development of world civilizations.

Discipline is aimed at acquiring the knowledge about the main stages, phenomena, events of different periods and historical epochs of the national history, comprehension of general and specific aspects in the history of Belarus and understanding its place in the system of social and humanitarian knowledge.

In the process of studying the discipline "History" students must learn the general logic of the history of development of the Belarusian statehood and formation of the Belarusian nation, culminating in formation of an independent sovereign state - the Republic of Belarus.

Content of the Subject

Philosophy plays a leading role in shaping the world outlook and methodological culture of the individual, as it has a centuries-old history of considering the fundamental issues of human existence. The study of philosophy is focused on mastering the heritage of the world's philosophical and national thought by students, developing skills of independent thinking, the ability to work out and argue their own position in relation to various phenomena of social life.

The main goal of the study of philosophy is formation of an integral vision of the world and systemic thinking, overcoming fragmentary professional consciousness, creating the foundations of a humanistic worldview.

The main tasks of studying philosophy are formation of the ability of creative and critical thinking in the field of professional and social activity, mastering the modern style of rationally oriented and scientific thinking, the ability to clearly articulate and argue their socio-political, professional and meaningful positions.

As a result of studying the discipline "Philosophy" students should know the main problems of philosophy and the essence of the most important philosophical doctrines, key ideas and categories of philosophical analysis, the basic values ​​of modern culture, socio-cultural foundations and patterns of human activity (including professional), basic principles, laws and the mechanisms of cognitive activity, to understand the laws of functioning and development of the society, the meaning and content of global problems of our time, as well as the basic strategies and prospects for their solution.

Content of the Subject

"Economic Theory" gives students an idea of ​​the economic basis, the mechanism of functioning of economic entities; what the need for competition is dictated by; how the state supports it; the goals and objectives; the main problems of economic development at the micro and macro levels. "Economic Theory" makes it possible to study the achievements of economic theory and world practice, schools of economic thought of the past and the present, form the ability to make an objective analysis of economic phenomena and economic life in order to successfully engage in economic activity.

"Sociology" is aimed at assimilating the complex of sociological knowledge necessary for practical activities, mastering sociological concepts and categories that reflect social processes in the society, formation of skills in choosing effective management decisions and acquisition of practice-oriented skills. During the study of “Sociology” the student's sociological thinking is developed, the foundation of sociological knowledge is formed on the basis of studying the achievements of world and Russian sociological thought, the disclosure of the specifics of social relations and processes in the Republic of Belarus, formation of understanding of practical implementation of the knowledge gained by students into their professional activities and other spheres of social activity.

Content of the Subject

The academic discipline "Political Science" includes the study of issues such as ideology and its role in the life of modern society, the cultural and historical (civilizational), the political, economic and socio-humanitarian components of the Belarusian state ideology, theory and methodology of political science, political institutions and processes in the Republic of Belarus and the modern world, international relations and foreign policy of states.

The main goal of studying the course of the integrated module "Political Science" is formation of a modern vision of the world, based on humanistic ideals, scientific principles of activity, as well as socially oriented values, the culture of rational political choice. In addition, it is important for students to have a solid base of political knowledge by studying the achievements of the world and national political thought, the ability for creative and critical scientific and practical, rational-oriented thinking, which ensures constructive participation in professional activities.

The acquired knowledge enables future specialists to analyze ideological and political processes, specific political situations in the Republic of Belarus and the modern world; substantiate their life, civil and patriotic positions, taking into account the ideology of the Belarusian state; participate in formation of the political system of the Belarusian society as a voter; demonstrate a culture of political participation.

Content of the Subject

In the course of mastering the academic discipline students study the general laws of cultural development of mankind from ancient times to the present day; basic concepts and categories of culture, its periodization and chronology; main directions and artistic styles (Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, Sentimentalism, Realism) and their specific historical manifestation in works of art culture: fine arts, literature, architecture, music; get acquainted with creative work of outstanding representatives of culture and art of different epochs.

An important place in the study of the discipline is occupied by Russian culture as a special type of culture. The emergence, formation and development of Russian culture is represented in inseparable unity and interaction of all the factors that have influenced its specificity. In addition, students get acquainted with the main trends of development of the national culture in the specific socio-cultural era.

Subject content

The study of the subject of “Ethics. Pedagogical ethics” assumes the consistent study of three thematic sections. The first examines the subject of ethics and its role in society, its interconnections with other branches of science. It explains the structure of modern ethics and its place in the system of applied ethical knowledge.

The second section gives the students acquaintance with the structure of a teacher’s professional morality, axiological, deontological and praxeological aspects of pedagogical ethics.

The third thematic section examines the practical problems of pedagogical ethics: ethics of relations in the system of “teacher – student”, business ethics in teachers’ group and the peculiarities of pedagogical image and etiquette. This section pays attention to the problem of ethical codification and the mechanism of its application.

Subject Content

A person must know his or her rights and responsibilities for being able to choose correctly while solving professional, social and cultural problems that accompany every person during his or her life and to create unitary democratic social and legal state, for active participation in the creation of the country innovative policy. It is especially important for the specialists receiving higher education. The teaching of the subject “Basics of law and human rights” is aimed at making a foundation of legal culture for the young generation of citizens and to promote overcoming the law ignorance.

The main goal of the subject is to provide the students with systematized knowledge about the system of Belarusian law and the mechanism of its functioning and to make the future specialists convinced to strictly adhere to the law of the Republic of Belarus.

The course of “Basics of law and human rights” aims to:

– provide the students with the understanding of importance of law knowledge for their practical activity;

– provide the students with knowledge on the foundations of the most important law branches of the Republic of Belarus;

– to help the students develop abilities and skills of correct understanding of current law, correct interpretation and use of law norms in a definite situation in life;

– to help the students acquire respect for legal system and the need to use the receieved knowledge in professional activity and to increase knowledge on law for themselves and the groups they are to work with.

The explanation of the course “Basics of law and human rights” urges the students to study the problems of state and law first, their social intention, knowledge on the law sources and types of law acts of the Republic of Belarus. The next sections provide materials on the basics of constitutional, civil, inheritance, labour, family, criminal and administrative law.
